Dickson Sorensen wrote i 2007:

Carl Ludvig Sorensen lived in Plattsburgh, New York. He met a pretty girl called Sarah Pheifer. She lived right across from the military base, where Carl Ludvig was stationed. He maried her, and stayed in the USA rather than returning to Denmark as his brother Soren Christian did. Carl Ludvig and Sarah had four children, Carl George Sorensen, Kathlene Petria Sorensen, Peter Raymond Sorensen and Fredrick Christian (my father).

Carl Ludvig and his brother, Søren Christian, had joined the army together in Plattsburgh. Their names are found together on the enlistment roles. Carl Ludvig faught in the American Spanish War i 1898. He applied for pension on May 24, 1905, when he became 33 years old.

Carl Ludvig Sorensen died on July 28th 1929, and he was burried at Plattsburgh Barracks, a Veterans Gravesite. Sarah Sorensen applied for pension on August 19th, 1929. Sarah died on November 23th, 1943, and her interment date was November 26, 1943, also at Plattsburgh Barracks.

Frederick Christian Sorensen married Janet Louise Downey. I am one of their children.

Today there are no Sorensens left in Plattsburgh. There is, however, a son of Carl Georg Sorensen, Carl P. Sorensen lives in Colchester, Vermont across the lake. I live in Wycombe, Pennsylvania.

The family tree which my cousin, Carl Sorensen, living in Vermont shared with me follows:
